WE HAVE VERY EXCITING NEWS! It never ceases to amaze me how Yusef’s charity is surrounded by generous, caring and kind people.
We wanted to fund cataract surgeries since before lockdown and eventually found a charity that we are happy to work with. The cost of a whole day’s “Screening Camp” (which includes surgery and after-care) in rural Nepal cost £2,500.
In addition to our recent fundraising, a close family friend Mohammed El-Haram has generously donated a second Screening Day. We are quite overwhelmed with Mohammed’s generosity and are now in the position to fund Two whole days.
This, of course means that dozen more can have their eyesight restored. We are working with Seva Foundation, and this is the information they sent us only yesterday:
The first camp information is as follows:
Kummyak Rural Municipality, Yasok Bazar, Pachathar district in Eastern Nepal (see attached map), in far eastern Nepal.
Date of Surgical eye camp: 18-20 November 2021
Cataract surgeries will take place at the camp. If specialized services are needed, patients will be referred to Itahari Eye Hospital, 40 minutes north of Biratnagar, Nepal, on the attached map.
Thank you to everyone who had supported Yusef’s charity fundraising efforts, and a massive thanks to Mohammed for enabling us to fund a second day. Dates for the second day to follow!
❤️
